Operatic spinto soprano Joanna Parisi, was born in New York of Italian heritage and is a citizen of both United States and Italy. Joanna graduated with honors from The Conservatory of Music at Purchase, State University of New York. She has received awards and recognition from prestigious opera and musical organizations including Operalia, Metropolitan Opera National Council, Opera Index, and Shreveport Opera. In the latest performances Norma, in March 2018 at the Sarasota Opera House, in the United States, and Santuzza, for Cavalleria Rusticana at Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, of Victoria.In September 2017 she performed at the Maria Callas memorial gala concert, in the Teatro Anticoof Taormina. Tosca in the Solis Montevideo theater in September 2017 and Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly at the Sarasota Opera House in March 2017.In March 2016, she was named one of The Next Generation of Great Opera Singers by WQXR Classical. In 2015 she sang Lucrezia Borgia. Throughout 2016, her performances in Bizet’s Carmen at the Teatro Antico di Taormina in Sicily were shown worldwide and featured at the Berlinale International Film Festival. She sang Tosca throughout four theaters in Switzerland: Neuchâtel, Fribourg, Vevey and Porrentruy. She also sang Leonora in Il trovatore at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City in both the 2014 and 2013 seasons. She also sang Micaëla in Carmen at Teatro Amazonas in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup. She sang Elisabetta di Valois in Don Carlo with great success in Neuchâtel and Fribourg, Switzerland. She sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Teatro Solis with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Montevideo. She sang in concert in Beijing, China at the National Center of the Performing Arts conducted by Plácido Domingo for Operalia. Joanna Parisi made her professional opera debut as the title role of Puccini’s Tosca in Central Park, New York City. She has since performed Abigaille in Verdi’s Nabucco in Union Square-Washington Irving Auditorium, and the title role of Aida in Central Park with the Orchestra of New York Grand Opera. She also sang Andrea Chenier (Maddalena) in concert in the Carnegie Hall towers, and Verdi and verismo recitals in the Weill recital hall. She sang the Puccini heroines Tosca and Mimi in La Boheme at the Enrico Fermi Italian Cultural Center in New York.In 2018 she played Tosca at the Astrakhan Opera Ballet and Theater in Astana and at the Roman Opera of Craiova and at the Peccioli Amphitheater in July. Also in 2018 she played Abigaille in Nabucco at the Cathedral of Lausanne. Leonora in Il Trovatore, Donna Elvira at the Teatro Politeama di Catanzaro and in this occasion, she meet the bass Carlo Colombara in the role of Don Giovanni: From this moment, she starts with him an artistic collaboration and sentimental union, marrying him the following year. In 2019 she sing with Carlo Colombara in Don Carlo in Craiova and will be at the Southwest Opera in Albuquerque making her debut as Elsa of Brabant in Lohengrin, and again Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana.
