Carlo Torriani was born in Milan and graduated in Economics from Bocconi University. He completed his musical studies privately and began to study singing with Sara Corti Sforni and Maria Luisa Cioni. After winning numerous awards and competitions, he made his debut in Il tabarro at the Bonci Theatre in Cesena Realizing his artistic rendering in comic characters, he decides to devote himself mainly to the “buffo” roles, performing Don Bartolo in Rossini’s and Paisiello’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Buonafede in Il mondo della luna by Haydn, Don Annibale in Il campanello, Gasparo in Rita, Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Antonio and don Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, Geronimo in Il matrimonio segreto, Uberto in La serva padrona and Tracollo in Livietta e Tracollo both by Pergolesi, Leporello in Don Giovanni, don Tritemio in Il filosofo di campagna by Baldassarre Galuppi, Don Grisobolo in Domenico Cimarosa’s L’impresario in angustie, don Carissimo in Scarlatti’s La Dirindina, Il Pimpinone by Tomaso Albinoni and Ser Amantio and Maestro Spinelloccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. Recently he made his debuts as Lindorff, Coppelius, Dapertutto and Miracle in Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach and perform in Drosilla e Nesso by Leoardo Leo, L’empio punito by Melani, Drusilla e Strabone by Sellitto, The stone Guest by Dargomijskij, Bruschino padre in Il signor Bruschino, Ormondo in L’inganno felice and Orbazzano in Tancredi by Rossini Ficcanaso in Il convitato di pietra by Pacini, Pasquariello in Don Giovanni Tenorio by Gazzaniga and Le Dancairo in Carmen. He recorded many CD and DVD for Brilliant, Bongiovanni, Dynamic, Kikkomusic, Da Vinci and Opera Discovery.
